ENJOY PETE'S PARK
A FRENDLY, GREGARIOUS PLACE CHARACTERIZED BY INFORMAL CONVERSATION AND COMPANlONSHlP
Half of the Sundays of the year, when the Bach Society is not presenting live music,
Pete's Park (the open decks in front of theBeach House) becomes an Open House

An Open House is a place where all may come or go, meet others, or not, according to their mood. A real "sociable" place, as defined by the dictionary, is a friendly, gregarious place characterized by informal conversation and companionship. Bring your own goods, or some will be available at the House.

So, get out of your car, enjoy the ocean and the sky, while listening to various outside recorded music. For the past six years Pete's Park has been a real refuge from overcrowded public places trying to sell you something.
Chill out folks, the Millenium is HERE.

Yours, Pete Douglas

Experience a Moment of Communal Ecstasy
Now it's the Year 2001, and the Bach Society will be on its 37th year of presenting live music. We continue to present alternative music that is not often covered by the vast commercial music industry of America.

In an age of commercial entertainment and fragmented audiences, we often lose sight (and ears) for the musical arts.Talented musicmaking provides that moment of ecstasy in a confusing, lonely and ever-changing universe. Emotionally, music is our secular religion. It brings us together in a communal sense like no other human activity. So rediscover the experience in your busy lives.

The Bach Society Member Has Privileges
Though you do not have to be a Member to attend our programs, a $150 Member receives four tickets for any combination of programs, as well as reservations privileges for their membership year. All monies received from Members, Co-Sponsors or significant Contributors, are in part, tax deductible.

Be a Co-Sponsor by contributing up to 50% of the cost of the talent of the day. You or your organization will be included in the program notes and may bring a party of eight guests. Call Pete Douglas, Concert Manager, for details.

Beach Cottage Rental
A cozy, fully-furnished, one bedroom cottage by the Beach House, with full kitchen, fireplace, sound, and king-size bed. $200 per night or $1000 for the week. Special arrangements for Co-Sponsors the day of the concert.

The Benefits of being a "Member- Contributor"

A $150 Member receives four tickets to be used for any concert of their choice.
Members will be able to make phone reservations for any or all concerts for a year and receive priority seating. Fifty percent of Member contributions are tax deductible.

We again thank our current Members for their generous support last year. As a consequence, we have been able to enrich our musical programing.

Make sure you're on our mailing list
In an effort to reduce mailing costs, we will be shrinking our mailing list. Your $5 subscription helps us know that you are serious about attending. Don't miss that special artist of your interest. Mail in $5 to the Bach Society, PO Box 302, El Granada, CA 94018.

Coping with Sunday Traffic
The Bach Society is a destination venue for most people in attendance
— that is, they have driven from all parts of the Bay Area to hear a musical program.
To minimize the traffic problem, we suggest the following:

--for those coming from the North Bay, Berkeley, Oakland and San Francisco
—take I-280 to Daly City, then Hwy. #1 south through Pacifica.

--for those coming over Hwy. 92 from San Mateo and further south,
try to come before 11 a.m. and make a day of it before arriving at the Bach at 3 p.m.

If you're coming later, then don't use Hwy. 92 much before 3 p.m. and you'll get to the Bach between 3:30 and 4:00.

Going back after 8 p.m. the traffic is light.

To enjoy a day on the beach for walking and bicyclers,
Pete's Park, in front of the Beach House will be available from 1 p.m. on for picnics or just hanging out by the ocean
— only if you'll be attending our show that day.
