Earth Circus Performance Troupe: Entertainment that Enlightens

For eight years Earth Circus Performance Troupe has brought environmental and performing arts education to schools and homeless shelters. The performance troupe blends stilting, dance, innovative music, multi-media elements and storytelling into wondrous spectacles with environmental themes. Earth Circus also provides performing arts training for disadvantaged youth through the schools and homeless shelters. Learning to juggle, stilt and dance requires discipline, teamwork and integrity. Our performing arts workshops give youth-at-risk a chance to believe in themselves and to experience the joy of creating together. Earth Circus Performance Troupe is both a performing arts and environmental education program, inspiring educators and students of all ages to protect the environment and seek creative solutions.

Our latest production Imagine That!: Re-Inventing the Future will be touring the schools in spring 1999. Imagine That! is a collaborative effort of the schools, Earth Circus and inventor Kenny Forrest and computer programmer Greg Soldberg. Kenny and Greg have joined with Earth Circus in creating our new electro-luminescent costumes and a captivating set, which blends scientific invention with dazzling artistry. The dynamic collaboration of science and the performing arts, makes for a breathtaking revue celebrating the creative spirit. Young audiences will be introduced to electric cars, electric bicycles and skates as well as an ambulant couch as dancers fly across the stage, music follows the pathway of the stilts, and lights pulse in colorful sequences. We hope our new production will inspire educators and students to think creatively in both the arts and sciences, developing innovations to sustain our planet.
